Light Pole Base Size Options

LPB’s can be made in many possible configurations which include different lengths and different exposed heights above grade. It is recommended to contact your local producer to verify what models they keep in stock. The most common LPB sizes are:

  • 6’ Classic LPB: Exposed height up to 12” above grade, 24” diameter, approx. 2,625 lbs
  • 8’ Classic LPB: Exposed height up to 36” above grade, 24” diameter, approx. 3,675 lbs

Light Pole Base FAQs

How tall of a light pole can LPB support?
LPB is designed to support light poles generally ranging from 10 feet to 30 feet in height, depending on site-specific conditions. Pole size, intended luminaries, and bolt circle diameter are just a few of the additional factors that may influence allowable heights.
What bolt circle diameters can your anchoring system accommodate?
The LPB’s adjustable anchoring system can accommodate bolt circle diameters from 7.5 inches to 13.5 inches, making it compatible with most common light pole types.
What is the capacity of your proprietary anchoring system?

Our universal adjustable anchoring system has been tested and independently reviewed to confirm its structural capacity. In many cases, our anchoring system has equivalent or greater capacity to that of a traditional cast-in-place J-bolt. Design calculators (BaseCalc LT and BaseCalc PRO) located on the LPB website were developed for users to verify adequacy of LPB for their specific projects.

The LPB website also contains a robust Technical Resources page which includes an Engineering Reference Manual that describes the analysis and testing procedures in more depth.

How does product quality compare to cast-in-place foundations?
All LPBs are produced in NPCA-certified facilities, ensuring strict quality control. Each base is manufactured to consistent national standards in a controlled environment.
Are LPBs readily available, or do they need to be custom ordered?
Thanks to the universal design of the anchoring system and conduit routing, LPBs are stocked by producers and available for quick shipment. This eliminates long lead times associated with traditional precast pole bases and cast-in-place pours.
How does conduit routing work with LPBs and what sizes fit?
Each base includes four large below-grade side openings leading to a 4” diameter central vertical pathway, accommodating conduit from all directions for flexible wiring layouts.
The 4” diameter central vertical pathway can accommodate the following number of conduits: (5) – ¾” conduits, (3) – 1” conduits, (2) – 1 ¼” conduits.
What size options are available?

LPB’s can be made in many possible configurations which include different lengths and different exposed heights above grade. It is recommended to contact your local producer to verify what models they keep in stock. The most common LPB sizes are:
